Great: it looks like a modern interpretation of a garden courtly masque with musical and theatrical events. In England, John Vanbrugh and William Kent had experience of masque design before they turned their hands to landscape gardens.

@Tom see photos http://sprudelsprudel-musik.com/sprudel_alt.htm Though last years was inside due to rain the idea as I got it is strolling alongside a murmuring alpine stream through the woods, between two lakes and the surrounding mountains experiencing the wonderful landscape, whilst paintings, carving, pottery, recitation, photos, performances are enhancing it and pointing out nature as the origin of all art; finally music, echoing back across the dark mystic lake Toplitz!

Thanks Bernhard. I found out about the music from this website, but not about landscape and art http://sprudelsprudel-musik.com/
Re the Alpengarten, my guess is that early June is the best time

Yeah well Tom, when I was there end of August this friendly chap having tea breake said season's over, I should have been visiting this from May to July... But btw if you happen to be in Aussee 7th August this year make shure to join Sprudel Sprudel & Musik :) - sort of a phantastic landscape & art event!

Berhnard, thank you very much for the photographs. Can you tell me what would be the best time, in spring, to visit the Alpine Garden (and reconsider my rating!)?
