Guided tours of the garden can be arranged with the owner and hands on designer Ian Pollard who provides horticultural and historical information with a dose of humour for an additional fee. Minimumn 20 people. Allow 60 minutes subject to size A 10 minute introductory welcome, minimum 12 people, can also be arranged for a nominal fee.
Guided tours into C16th Abbey House with Barbara Pollard can be arranged for groups between 20 - 35 in size (separate admission fee). Allow 50 minutes subject to group size.
In 2009 we will open for the National Gardens Scheme in advance of the full season on Sunday March 15 between 11.00 - 17.30
Malmesbury's Long stay car park adjoins the garden (120 spaces) but please climb Abbey steps to access the garden entrance. Short stay car park (2 hours) in the hilltop town centre at Cross Hayes. 9 disabled parking spaces around town, in the High St. or at The Triangle Separate arrangements for coaches please enquire 01666 827650
The garden is 60% accessible to most wheelchairs and the paths very wheel friendly. Some wheelchairs access the entire site. Visitors must exercise their own best judgement before proceeding along the river garden pathways. Disabled toilet on site
We have some items for sale at our refreshment counter but not really a shop, other than our online shop.
A range of beverages with cakes and biscuits are available daily. Locally produced soup and rolls for the cooler months. Groups can order a locally sourced Abbey House lunch (our take on a ploughman's lunch) if we are given at least a week's notice.
Visitors may bring their own food to picnic by the river. We're sorry I'm afraid we cannot allow alcohol and we do need to ask that you please take your rubbish home
