Blueways appeal to the senses and to the imagination. They will normally run beside water, but it is possible to create sublimity without water. In mood, Blueways are cool, sensual, elemental. Water is essential to life on earth and the desire to be near water, in lakes and rivers, has not been diminished by humanity's recent habit of living in cities. Everything should be done to recover and recreate routes which run beside water. They are good places for leisure and exercise.
