733. The cemeteries of Tarabolus are nearly as extensive as those of Damascus, though the population of the town does not exceed 10,000. The tombs are handsomer than those at Damascus, and more in the true Turkish style of Constantinople and Smyrna: all are daily furnished with myrtle, freshly watered, and visited and strewed with flowers by the female relatives and friends.
