1106. The structure and physiology of true parasites will be found lucidly explained by Dr. Brown, in his elaborate paper in the Linn. Trans., vol. xiii. p. 227., on that most wonderful of plants the Rafflesia Arnoldi; and by J. E. Bowman, Esq., in an equally elaborate paper (Linn. Trans., vol. xvi. p. 399-420) on the Lathrﾵ'a squamaria. The majority of the tropical Orchideﾵ are true epiphytes.
