American Hatchet

Previous - Next

American Hatchet. (fig. 62.) This hatchet was sent to us from Canada as the one used in felling timber. The workmen do great execution with it. The blade is thicker near the edge than ours, and more like a wedge, so that it clears itself at every stroke, and never sticks in the wood. The shape of the handle is a very great improvement.
