Richmond garden property

Return to property home

Richmond upon Thames is a borough in South West London, retaining large areas of open space within its boundaries. The main residential property areas are Hampton, Teddington, Twickenham, Kew, Mortlake and Barnes. The borough has districts on both sides of the Thames. Many properties have a view of the River and the entire residential area has a riverside air. Richmond has a Royal Park and a Royal Palace. Alexander Pope and Horace Walpole enjoyed this character. Kew Gardens, one of the world's largest and most famous botanical gardens, is an emblem of its garden culture. If you can learn to live with the aircraft noise, London has few more desirable residential districts.

For historical information on Richmond, see Muirhead's 1927 London Walks: Richmond and Kew.
