The Gardenvisit.com Real Estate section began with a request from a reader in 2004. The reader asked a simple question: 'Can you help me find a house with a good garden?'

We asked 'Where?' She answered 'Anywhere', explaining that she lived in a large city with a big airport and wanted to find a place to make a garden, adding that it might become a retirement home one day.

Since then we have been collecting and and publishing information on the conditions for finding and making good gardens in various parts of the world.
