Hampstead Garden Suburb garden square

One of London's finest housing schemes, described by Lewis Mumford as 'a masterpiece and an artistic triumph'. Parker and Unwin designed the scheme in 1905. It makes excellent use of the topography and the central square (design by Lutyens in 1908) on the hilltop is by far the best twentieth century London Square. Access from Central Square, NW 11.
