Portman Square was built after 1764 and formed part of the Portman Estate. It is accessible only to key holders and lacks animation. An ugly tennis court occupies the centre of the garden. The planting is fresh but the square is dominated by traffic noise.
Portman Square Gardens. The notice records that railings were installed in 1882, removed and 1942 and replaced in 1972.
