Lined timber - review
Pond Construction Guide
Logs can be used to form the edge of a pool or stream. The design points to note are:
- the timber needs to be rot-proof
- the water-level needs to be high and constant to balance the forces on both sides of the timber (if the timber is to act as a retaining structure it will require additional strength)
- the fixings for the barge board must not be subject to rusting
- the liner may require protection from physical damage on the base of the pond or stream (this can be provided with sand, fiber-matting, concrete etc).
