Based in South East London, moh_design was founded by Rachel Mooney CMLI, Landscape Architect. As an artist and printmaker, Rachel likes to incorporate art into her landscape designs. As a mum, she likes working with people and children. Before starting moh_design, Rachel obtained degrees in geography, from Sheffield University, and landscape architecture from the University of Greenwich. An appreciation for places, people and environments provides a base for the creation of landscapes with a local identity rooted in their history and culture. This has included housing projects several parks:
• The Mile End Park Millennium Project (with Community Land Use)
• The Crystal Palace Park Competition in London and the Westergasfabriek Park, Amsterdam (with Gustafson Porter)
• Balcurris Park, Dublin and Caledonian Park, London (with Whitelaw Turkington)
moh_design has completed four parks in the London Borough of Waltham Forest, all designed with extensive community involvement and integrated public art in the final design. The play environments are unique landscapes creating imaginative spaces for children's play.
Their most recently finished schemes have transformed two rundown estate playgrounds in Tower Hamlets into inclusive playable gardens for the neighbourhood.
