Since then a dam has been built as flood mitigation and in 2011 it has protected the city from more severe flooding.<\/p>\n<p>However, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.brisbanetimes.com.au\/environment\/tides-to-reach-new-highs-in-suburban-brisbane-20101216-18yz6.html\">with climate change<\/a>, the expected frequency and severity of flooding could be expected to increase.
