Apparently <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fredericklawolmsted.com\/central.html\">Olmsted<\/a>&#8216;s Central Park faced something of a crisis in the 1970s and was revived in the 1980s through <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pps.org\/parks_plazas_squares\/info\/parks_plazas_squares_articles\/september2004_feature\">a major restoration project<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>So the times change and people demand new things of their parks? After the French Revolution fortuneately the true value of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.students.sbc.edu\/gregg09\/Gregg%20Versailles%20gardens.htm\">Versailles<\/a> was recognised&#8230;So hopefully designers and the public will be able to recognise <a href=\"http:\/\/stillwahdi.blogspot.com\/2009\/07\/cycling-to-palace-of-versailles.html\">the value of the past <\/a>when refurbishing green spaces for the future.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It is interesting to see parks within their urban setting\u00a0to start to understand the relationship between urban fabric and parkland.
