Here is a really good example of context-sensitive design: the glass roof sits beautifully with the thatched roof. It looks as though the pitch is the same and I can’t even be sure whether the piers which support the glass are old or new. But some of the other details are less than perfect – the trip rail, though suitably rustic,\u00a0 seems unnecessary and the outdoor lantern is not in keeping with the arts and crafts excellence of the Athelhampton garden<\/a> or indeed with what is described as one of the finest 15th century houses in England.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
