I wish I had been collecting evidence on straight and curvy lines for the past 30 years but regret I cannot promise to devote the next 30 years to this task. Do you think there are differences between the talents of the two main sexes? There is evidence for this and, if correct, personality surely influences attitudes to design. This chart is extensive but not all that helpful

There is a popular myth that females are more likely to adopt circles and males straight lines when designing! Have you noticed among your students a female preference for curvy landscape schemes and a male preference for straight landscape schemes?
