I’d love to see Geta-shod walkers on the Manali-Leh Highway but, apart from them, I fear for the future. They are digging a tunnel under the Rohtang Pass. The future of Lahaul may be as a ski resort.

The difficulty is when the Geta [ http://wafuku.wordpress.com/2009/03/11/traditional-japanese-footwear/ ] is exchanged for the Flip flop [ http://chicsstyle.com/flip-flops-colorful-models/ ].

So as you see, that despite superficial similarities in the footwear, the world in which the Geta is worn and the world in which the Flip Flop is worn are very different places.
