News from the website

The website was first published in 1998 as an information resource for UK garden visitors. Coverage has been expanded to include most countries with a heritage of public gardens to visit. For each country, the aim is to provide an authoritative source of information on garden design history and a comprehensive Garden Finder list of gardens open for visits by members of the public. For the reasons explained above the coverage has been further enlarged to include garden property (primary homes, second homes and hotels). is one of the world's largest garden-related websites and one of the most visited. Following a site visit in December 2004, there is a new section which explains the vast importance of the Domain of Amun (Luxor, Egypt) in the history of western landscape and garden design. See also Al Azhar Park.
Nov 2004 We have added garden finder lists of places to visit in various countries, together with 300 additional photographs and descriptions of gardens. See new sections on Chinese Gardens, Japanese Gardens and Sacred Gardens Sacred Gardens.
Sept 2004 Reviews of 4 Kathryn Gustafson landscape designs + a visitor's comment on Westergasfabriek Park
May 2004 The first version of the Landscape Architecture Guide has been published.
April 2004 The Garden and Landscape Products Guide now takes the form of an illustrated book (approx 70 pages + 200 photographs).
