Kenya is situated in East Africa, on the equator. Kenyan vegetation varies from the shrubs and grasses of the arid desert areas, to mountain forests and alpine plants, lush tropical forests, and Mangrove forests along the coast of the Indian Ocean. Around 7,000 species of higher plant grow in Kenya, over 1,000 of which are endemic. With its diverse flora and fauna, Kenya stands out more for its natural landscapes than for its designed gardens. The Maasai Mara is probably the world's most famous game reserve. Numerous tour companies operate safari tours in Kenya.
The official languages of Kenya are English and Kiswahili.
