Holland is the centre of Europe’s horticultural industry and has a long and distinguished garden design tradition. For a short break, the best plan is to fly to Amsterdam and hire a car. Then return the car and take the train into Amsterdam – the city is friendly to pedestrians and cyclists but unfriendly to cars.
