Deeg was the home of India's Jat rullers. Badan Singh was proclaimed ruler in 1722 and made the Purana Mahal (old palace). Surajmal built additional palaces (Nand Bhawan, Gopal Bhawa, Sawan, Bhadon ) around a water garden with walkways, flowerbeds,trees
