Like Tavistock Square, Gordon Square was developed by Thomas Cubitt in the 1820s. It now belongs to the University of London and the student community has taken over from the former aristocratic residents as the primary user group. One is never more completely in London than when enjoying the lawns of a secluded residential square on a hot summer day.
