Augill Castle

Built in 1841, Augill Castle is a characterful Victorian folly, complete with turrets and towers, beautifully situated in the Eden Valley. Augil Castle is on the edge of the Peninnes and is also conveniently located for visiting Hadrian's Wall, the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District. In addition to the 12 rooms in the main castle, you can also stay in the Groom's Cottage, which has its own private garden. Augill Castle is an environmentally responsible place to stay where emphasis is placed on composting, recycling and environmentally friendly fuels. The attractive gardens are open to the public in the summer.
