Garden types and styles

The distinction is important.

Garden Types are equivalent to building types (palace, temple, castle etc) and Garden Styles are equivalent to architectural styles (classical, gothic, baroque etc). The left-hand column, below, is of Garden Types. The right-hand column is of Garden Styles, with the lack of examples of the early styles making them close to types.
