James Pulham and Sons were a well-known firm of landscape garden contractors, operating in England in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. They specialized in making picturesque rock gardens using both natural stone and a form of artificial rock which became known as 'Pulham Stone'.  Four generations of Pulhams were involved in the firm, with each of the eldest sons having the Christian name James. See the Pulham website for further information.
