North American gardens

We believe this is the first history of garden design in America ever written.: J C Loudon American garden design in 1834. It was the work of a great author, though he never visited America.

This substantial essay on America was commissioned by the editors of the Gothein's English translators: Frank Waugh, History of landscape architecture in North America. Though it deals with historic gardens, the emphasis is more on public parks, national parks and landscape architecture.
