Since Gardenvisit.com deals mainly with the broad scale of garden history and design, it is a welcome change to look, with Angela Stanford, at the many details which give pleasure to gardeners. She is an illustrator of the first order - who also has excellent judgement in quotations. The two skills have been brought together to create a lovely present for garden lovers. Pages are devoted to the pleasure of flowers, watering cans, vegetables, pots and all the intimate details of gardens. Her lettering is so beautiful it would be worth buying the book for this alone.
