Iron and Steel Garden Furniture
Iron and has been used in gardens for 200 years and its use can be expected to increase because of the great advances in steel design, technology and manufacture. Steel is very strong and can be very beautiful. 'Yes', you might say, 'but it rusts'. There are several responses to this:
- the colour of rust is very beautiful with the colours and forms of garden plants
- stainless steel does not rust and has some of the aesthetic qualities of ice, water and sunlight
- a typical mild steel plant container will take the best part of lifetime (say 70 years) to rust through
- the more expensive Corten steel forms a protective rust coating and then rusts no further
Our sister site CrinkleCrankle has ranges of Iron planters, Steel planters and Stainless steel planters.
