Zwinger Garden

The Zwinger Palace was designed by Matthäus Daniel Pöppelmann, between 1710 and 1728, in cooperation with the sculptor Balthasar Permoser. The original plan was for an orangery to be used for court festivities. The building later became an art gallery and is one of the best examples of the late baroque in Germany.
