Winterthur, like Longwood Gardens -- its "brother" du Pont estate garden just over the Pennsylvania border to the north -- is known to garden enthusiasts all over the world. Anyone traveling to this wealthy valley of gardens that is often called "Chateau country" simply couldn't miss seeing Winterthur (which is equally famous for its house museum of Americana).
The March Bank is particularly alluring, ushering in as it does the early spring bulbs by the thousands. A sight not to be missed. In more recent years, Winterthur has added a truly amazing children's garden called Enchanted Woods. Don't miss it -- even if you have no children!
