Weimar Belvedere

The Schloss Belvedere is a Baroque country house on the,  outskirts of Weimar. It was designed as a pleasure-house (Lustschloss) in 1724-1732 to designed by Johann August Richter and Gottfried Heinrich Krohne for Ernst August, Duke of Saxe-Weimar. The gardens were designed in the (French-influenced) High Baroque style in 1728-1748. After 1811 the outer gardens were adapted to the (English-influenced) Mixed style for Grand Duke Carl Friedrich.
