The Eagle's Fare restaurant has a tuckshop where cooldrinks and snacks may be purchased. The Nursery at the Garden and a Gift and Book Shop are open daily.

Eagle's Fare Restaurant at the Walter Sisulu NBG You are welcomed to relaxingly enjoy this indigenous habitat and invited to peacefully take pleasure in home-made cuisine under the grand old White Stinkwood tree or indoors, next to the fire-place. Savour one of the many diverse items on the A la Carte menu daily (0900-1645hrs) … breakfast, tea-time, a delectable lunch or just an afternoon snack. In addition, a buffet lunch is offered from 1200hrs on Sundays in our large dining room adjoining a large wooden deck. With conference facilities and packages available, the calm environment opens the minds of delegates. Our Senior Citizens enjoy their Tuesday Pensioners' Day specials and our fellow Global visitors feel rewarded with scrumptious South African delights. Couples celebrate their wedding with up to 120 guests in our large dining room, as do many other corporate and private functions – whilst the sun shines high or whilst moon and stars dazzle the night skies. The Garden is open generally for public to picnic. It has won an award for being the Best Picnic in GAuteng for 6 years running. Braaing in the garden is however prohibited.

Teddy Bears Picnic 12 October Walter Sisulu National Botanical Garden Picnic in the Garden and enter your favourite Teddy Bear in the Teddy Bear Picnic Competition. Remember to bring along a ‘Spare Bear' for donation to charity. Normal entrance fees per person are payable as well as a guide fee for the group (with a maximum of 20 people per guide). The guide fees vary as follows: Weekdays - R170, Saturdays - R225 and Sundays - R300. Members enjoy reduced fees on all the lectures, walks and talks listed below and there are other benefits too: The privilege of free entry into any of South Africa 's National Botanical Gardens. Reduced rates at concerts and other events. The Society's quarterly journal "Veld & Flora". The opportunity of receiving free seed annually from Kirstenbosch. For more details, ask for a membership form at the entrance. Please note that at some outings there may be an entrance fee into the reserves.
