I would concur with Charlotte ! Having visited this garden in early January, it was wonderful to admire a fabulous selection of trees, especially the Ficus ,sporting amazing buttress roots and curtains of aerial roots. I was in awe.

An absolutely wonderful garden .... steeped in history ... and former home of Dr David Fairchild (whose name was given to the wonderful Fairchild Botanical Gardens nearby). Don't be put off by the signs on the gate that say the garden is only open by appointment. it is open Tuesday - Friday from 10.00-14.00, but you need to drive in and pay at the house.
Walk down to the point for fabulous views across Biscayne Bay and if you're really lucky, you'll run into head gardener, Dunstan, who is a mine of information.
There's always something in flower here and the collection of trees is quite amazing, including the Red Silk tree, with its remarkable flowers.
