Yes, we welcome pre-booked parties of 12 or more (our maximum is 60 - or 100 in 2 groups) Undercover shelter is not available for very large groups in the event of rain.
We open regularly for the National Gardens Scheme (and received our 20 year commemorative trowel in 2008). Dates are advertised in the Yellow Book.
Coaches and cars may park on the grass verge in the lane above the cottage. On very busy days visitors are requested to park with consideration on the main road at the bottom of the lane and walk (5 minutes)
Disabled visitors are welcome to sit in the Garden Room and enjoy the view and birds. There are ample seats around the garden, but it is not suitable for wheelchair users because of a gravel path and gentle slopes.
Snape Cottage Garden is the home of SNAPE STAKES IRON PLANT SUPPORTS. A new innovation for 2009 is a small Gallery showing work by IAN WHINFIELD PHOTOGRAPHY. Framed and unframed mounted prints for sale. Cellophane-wrapped cardlets of the garden, many of the rare plants and wildlife, and natural history of the surrounding area.
Home made Cakes, Scones and Clotted Cream Teas, Tea/Coffee and Biscuits are available on all our Garden Open Days. Delicious home-made refeshments also available for pre-booked groups
Individuals and Groups are welcome to picnic in the garden by prior arrangement
Well behaved dogs on leads are welcome at the discretion of the owners
For an extra £20 pre-booked groups may arrange a guided tour with Angela Whinfield (3/4 hour)
