Saint-Gaudens National Historic Garden

Gardenvisit Editorial

The garden was owned and designed by the sculptor Agustus Saint-Gaudens, in an Italian version of the Arts and Crafts style. In addition to many of his own sculptures, it has hedges, fountains, pools and pergolas. In the 1940s Ellen Biddle Shipman was commissioned to restore the sculptor's garden. She made extensive use of herbaceous borders and several copies of sculptures were placed in the garden.
