Rosedown is an antebellum plantation built by Daniel and Martha Turnbull, believed to be named after a play they saw together on their honeymoon. Martha designed the garden and was influenced by the gardens she had visited in France and Italy. The garden has been restored using the comprehensive garden diaries she kept. A majestic oak allee leads to the house.
