Rip Van Winkle Gardens

A lush garden set among live oaks on a fertile salt dome island and planted irises, magnolias, hibiscus, camellias, azaleas, bulbs and annuals. The garden was started by Joseph Jefferson, a stage actor famed for his portrayal of Rip Van Winkle , and developed by J Lyle Bayless with help from the English gardener Geoffrey Wakefield
