Go to Pinetum Park & Pine Lodge Gardens
Of all the parks & gardens on 3 different visits to Cornwall. Pinetum Park & Pine Lodge Gardens has captured my heart for its breath taking views, tranquil beauty, ever changing with hidden treasures & wild life. THE JEWEL IN THE CROWN OF CORNISH PARKS & GARDENS. To all the staff & gardeners, well done and thank you.

(5.0/5)Had an absolutely brilliant time I haven't seen gardens as pristine as these before. The surroundings are so peaceful and I would definately visit again.

(5.0/5)A very friendly welcome. Plants clearly labelled and plenty of seats to relax and take in the beautiful gardens. Will recommend to family.

(5.0/5)Simply stunning location,a true Cornish gem
The childrens play days are truly superb afffairs well organised and well run by a truly friendly team of staff. The coffee shop is small but well stocked at fair prices with a lovely outside space. The well kept lawns and open spaces are a fantastic place for a picnic, plenty of walking and exploring for the children.Overall a fantastic day for us and our two children.

(5.0/5)For the discerning gardener Pine lodge Gardens has much to offer. Its plants, including some uncommon varieties, have been helpfully labelled providing the opportunity to research them further. The horticultural staff are both experienced and approachable, and their enthusiasm is much in evidence through the recent changes that have been made.

(5.0/5)We have visited Pinetum (new owners and new name) on numerous occasions as we love the gardens. All year round lots to see and the wildlife at the lake is great, little one enjoys exploring all the gardens and spotting the statues! brilliant for picnics, hide and seek etc. The staff are all really friendly and they hold the best Playdays all my friends have said what a fantastic time they had there! So keep an eye out for those. A really pretty tranquil garden and i have to say my favourite now as some others can be very busy. do visit and see for yourself its a real treasure for St Austell. All ages welcome and well behaved dogs on leads too.

(5.0/5)Great experience in a brilliantly maintained garden. 'Poppy' our dog followed us around which was nice.

(5.0/5)Took my 3 year old to the Children event day recently (the 2nd one we have attended since its been avertised in the Bodmin Visitors Centres events list)it was a fantastic day, great staff, well organised and great fun...and the bonus adults were free with their children.
Have mentioned it too people and have taken a few of my firends and their children along too.
A wonderful place for a picnic, where all ages can relax or let of steam!
Will definately be back, keep up the good work Pinetum.

(5.0/5)First visit to Pine Lodge Gardens and it was for a childrens fun day. We had a fantastic day there, there were various games dotted around the gardens which our children throughly enjoyed. The gardens are stunning, it was a beautiful day which just added to the beauty of it all. A real little gem on the outskirts of St Austell. Thank you, we can't wait to come back for your next fun day!

(5.0/5)I would call these gardens a hidden secret, I have live in St Austell all my life and only visited for the first time in 2008. WOW what have I been missing?!!! They are alot bigger then you would expect and would be interesting for all the family (there are childrens playdays held regularly thoughout the year which are very well organised and great fun (the Daddys and Mummys enjoy these days just as much as the children)!!! The gardens themselves are very big but have alot of wheelchair access so are easy to get around. There are several different sections to these gardens but even on a busy day you feel like you have the place to yourselves are there are lots of trees, hedges etc so have a very private feel to them. I especially love the Japanese garden which is a lovely place to just sit and relax as well as the massive pond at the bottom of a huge grassed area. What I particularly love is that I have two young children (under 5) but we are always made to feel welcome!!

(5.0/5)I live just round the corner from Pine Lodge Gardens and am a regular visitor with my 2 little boys. The tea rooms provide delicious lunches. The soup comes highly recommended by my mum! The gardens are always beautifully presented and it is an ideal size with lots of variety for the children. The pine trees provide a great hide and seek space and the winter garden in great for little ones to run around the enclosed paths while I rest and enjoy the views.
We love the play days, the most recent was wonderful. The boys loved the water play, face painting and sports events. It was a lovely family day and we only had to pay £5 for our 3 year old so it was great value. We recommend!

(5.0/5)I recently visited these gardens with my father and we were both very impressed with the lay out the variety of plants trees the lakes and the
friendliness of the staff, the head gardener was happy to have a chat and made us very welcome he has an extensive knowledge of plants and trees.
to say you can see this garden in half an hour as noted by a previous review is a rather silly statement its possible to get around asda in 5 minutes if you don't look at or buy anything.
I would recommend a visit to this garden it is really beautiful .

(5.0/5)We have visited Pinetum Park & Pine Lodge Gardens twice with children aged 4 - 14years. Each time we have visited the staff have been very helpful and friendly. The gardens are beautiful, very peaceful, with space for the children to run. There is plenty to see There is a lovely coffee shop.

(5.0/5)A very nice place to visit we had a fun day with our children . The gardens were beautifully set out with lots of plants to see . All the staff were friendly and very polite .The only thing i could suggest to improve upon is safety with lots of younger children running round and encouraged to play would be to put barriers round the water areas of the gardens .

(4.0/5)A garden of great diversity with fresh delights around every corner. Definitely the place for gardeners looking for something a bit different with a wide variety of plants for sale, many being unusual.
The parklands with pond provide a beautiful setting for walking or to enjoy some of the special events currently being laid on.
Not a garden to walk through quickly but to take time to take in the differents colours, textures and scents of the plants and trees.
Friendly service and good food at the cafe is definitely the icing on the cake.

(5.0/5)We've been to three of the fun days that Pine Lodge run and I have nothing but praise for the staff, the gardens and the activities. The gardens themselves are good, plus there's lots of room for the children to run around.
The staff are fantastic - so helpful and approachable. The fun days themselves are fantastic, with loads of activities laid on for the children to do.
Looking forward to the next fun day on 31st August :-)

(5.0/5)A beautiful garden close to home near St Austell. We came along to the last playday and had a wonderful time. The gardens are just beautiful. There are lots of lovely quiet places to sit and just take in the view. A real favourite of ours is the winter garden. We will definately be back!

(5.0/5)Large garden with plenty of variety. There are a good number of small gardens. However we walked the garden in under an hour and it does not justify the price of entry. After speaking with the owner it was very evident that he is unaware of plants, which previously was a selling point for visiting. The tea room is very pleasant and the staff is friendly. There is also a good variety of plants in the shop. Overall if you are looking to visit a garden I would suggest heligan or the eden project if you have a family.

(1.0/5)Our walk through the garden took us under an hour. I enjoyed the several small gardens each with a different feature. Tea room serves delicious soup with very generous bread slices. Plant center male staff was very unfriendly and actually asked me to leave the shop, as he objected to my picture taking. He should read the garden's brochure which says it wants "no miserable humans!".

(3.0/5)Quite the best garden in Cornwall that I've visited so far.

(5.0/5)Summer or winter, this is a real find. A beautiful garden, close to the Eden Project, where there is always something in flower.
Well worth visiting in the winter months to see the hellebores and snowdrops ... and when I last visited, the new winter garden was being developed ... and it promises to be stunning!

(5.0/5)A most wonderful garden- I first visited it in the winter two years ago and was amazed by the amount of plants still flourishing that late in the season. The owner was so kind and took us back to see a correa in full bloom that we'd obviously missed and she was so enthusistic and knowledgable about the plants- it was very refreshing. I visit family frequently in nearby Sticker and we often stop by the nursery to acquire unusual plants for their garden. I'm a garden fanatic and have visited many beautiful gardens but at Pine Lodge, there seems to be a love of horticulture from all involved that is sometimes lacking in other well known gardens.

(5.0/5)Thank you for adding new pictures its looking great 5 stars
