Also described as a palacio (palace), finca (estate) and pazo (country house), the property now houses a school of forestry. The Pazo de Lourizán was a farm in the fifteenth century. In the nineteenth century it became the house of  a politician (Eugenio Montero Ríos) and then a school of agriculture and forestry. The estate has a farm, a botanical garden and an arboretum. There is an artificial waterfall and the Fonte das Cores is a fountain in a cave.
