The Morikami is a Japanese arts and cultural centre. The garden was renovated and expanded in 2001. There are 6 gardens, each inspired by a different historical period and type of Japanese garden from the eighth to the twentieth century.
Whilst I appreciate the exploration of form and texture one sees in this garden, the absence of any flowers left one feeling a bit bereft of the joy of nature one can derive through the medium of flowers.
It has an interesting array of Eastern garden /landscape styles.
