Monteviot House Garden

A 30 acre riverside garden, overlooking the River Teviot, with a terrace, rose garden, herbaceous garden, pinetum, Labernum tunnel and water garden with islands linked by bridges.

Head Gardener's Comment

The River Garden running down to the River Teviot has been extensively replanted with herbaceous perennials and shrubs to a more informal design. Beside it, the semi-enclosed terraced rose gardens, overlooking the river have a large collection of hybrid teas, floribundas and shrub roses. The pinetum is full of unusual tree and newly restored for 2008 is the Dene garden with its series of bridges.
