McKee Botanical Garden is a subtropical garden, originally founded in 1929 and laid out by William Lyman Phillips. In 1932, it opened to the public as McKee Jungle Gardens but was shut down in 1976. The Indian River Land Trust purchased the garden in 1995 and it was reopened in 2001. The garden is situated in a hammock along the Indian River.
