Go to Longwood Gardens
A friend and I went to Longwood for a day out. It's gorgeous. The flowers are beautiful, the grounds are immaculate, and even though the restaraunt wasn't compeltely finished yet, the food was still outstanding.
It's so fascinating how *small* the DuPont houses are compared to the rest of the gardens. There seems to be more put into the *just* the ballroom than all the houses combined. In my opinion, it's a great testament to love of nature and the humility and resourcefulness of previous generations.
A must-see for nature or art lovers in Pennsylvania!

(5.0/5)This former duPont estate is one of the world's great display gardens, with numerous fountains and other attractions. Don't miss it! It has something for everyone and it changes seasonally, so there's always something different to see.
The cluster of conservatories alone is worth the visit. There are many greenhouses and conservatories, one opening into another. The biggest is the East Conservatory, recently restored and redesigned, which is a beautiful garden under glass with little cul-de-sacs that make it seem very private, even with other visitors enjoying its scenery. And opening off it is the even-newer indoor children's garden that is a marvel of water features and Italian-influenced attractions for kids.
The conservatories wrap around an outdoor plaza that is home to several huge pools that display waterlilies, water platters and other exotic flowers and tropical plants in the summer. Try to catch one of the in-the-pool lectures on the sex life of waterlilies... it's quite fascinating!
