Landschaftspark Putbus is located on Rügen (or Ruegen), the largest German island. The original 18th century baroque garden was converted into a landscape park in the 19th century. The castle was destroyed in the 1960s but the outline of its position is marked on the grass. There is a deer park, rose garden, orangery and church.
