Gardenvisit Editorial

Kalon means 'great' and the Kalon Mosque was Bukhara's congregational Mosque, planned to hold the city's male population for Friday worship. The present structure dates from the early 16th century and has a large central courtyard in which the faithful would gather as they did in Muhammad's garden - which was the first mosque. There is a tree in the courtyard but its antiquity is not known.
Address - Bukhara, Uzbekistan
