Reviews of Jing Xin Zhai

The bus dropped us off on the road north of Beihai Park. It was very hot and I wanted to go back to the hotel. But we went into the Jing Xin Zhai garden and were amazed. There are so many rocks and so many goldfish. We just sat and looked until I had recovered. Two old ladies gave a mass of bread to the goldfish, which swarmed on top of each other like a living marigold. After an hour or so we went on to the park and were amazed to find the great lake with all the boats bobbing about. Now I think of it as my best day in Beijing. There was a gang of old ladies on a hill playing wailing Chinese music. They were very friendly when they saw we liked it and gave us some sweet sticky things to eat. The willow trees on the shore are beautiful in the wind.
