It was polluted but now the govt. took actions to stop it.I really appreciate it.

The Jal Mahal is very famous spot for tourist but now there are some construction work is going on for giving a more attractive look and for making more stronger because this is one of the oldest palace. I really feel good when i see the reconstruction started. I am waiting for the date when the construction get over and i see the final look.

The developer is Jal Mahal Resorts Pvt. Ltd. which is part of NR Kothari, a Mumbai diamond company. This information is from a website: "The original garden is lost. We did not find any traces of it on the terrace. Mitchell Crites is designing a new garden using the "char bagh" concept. The Chameli Bagh will have a pattern which has been picked up from Amber. The garden will be a white one, with marble and all white flowers. The marble work is going on outside and it will be installed in the garden soon." Mitch Crites is an American landscape architect who is married to a Persian lady and has lived in India for 30 years.

I am having a cousin who works for the company which is developing the Jal Mahal Garden. He says it is going to be super good.

I saw this garden on Monty Don's Around the World in 80 Gardens last night (BBC2 10th Feb 2008). He was interviewing the American landscape architect who is restoring this garden as part of a major tourism development. It looks like it is going to become a Five Star Garden.
