Hughenden Manor Garden

A High Victorian Mixed Style garden designed for the Prime Minister, Benjamin Disraeli (c1862) and restored by the National Trust. Mrs Disraeli designed the terrace and her ideas guided the restoration. Regarding Mrs Disraeli's source of inspiration, one possibility is Edward Kemp's book How to Lay Out a Garden (second edition 1858). There iare similarities between her design and Kemp's illustrations.
