Hoomaluhia Botanical Garden is within a volcanic crater. It is a wild place with many wild plants. The garden was designed and built by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, to provide flood protection for Kaneohe, and is now managed by by the County of Honolulu.

    It was a nice visit, but indeed this is more of a botanical park than a botanical garden. Ideal to go with kids for a picnic.
    Lots of interesting species and almost every tree name is indicated.
