What a lovely place. Went for the first time today, had a mug of tea and slice of cake in the Tearoom, followed the work around the gardens and Horse Pasture Wood and saw millions of Snowdrops. This year they have set up a treasure trail for children and a difficult one for grown ups - it was great fun and a really clever idea. We were chatting to what we thought was a member of staff by the bonfire in the woods and it turns out it was the owner, getting his hands dirty with fresh logs - really refreshing to see such care and attention in a place. We'll be back to see the bluebells and picnic theatre in the summer.

(5.0/5)I visit Hodsock every year with my daughter son in law and grandchildren,it holds special memories of departed family who also loved the gardens.
To us it is the sign of spring not far away, yes, sometimes the weather is "iffy", after all this is England, it's thanks to the cold weather that we have the snowdrops to look at.
Wrap up in warm clothes, obviously,it's February. Stroll around the gardens, smell the scents of the flowers, look at the beautiful colours and textures of the bark on the various shrubs and trees.Enjoy a warm drink and food in the cafe or take your own.
Just enjoy

(5.0/5)An excellent place to visit! Beautiful Spring flowers in 5 acres of gardens. This years weather has been a little harsh so not as many flowers on show as usual. Went last year and there were loads, and so many different varieties, but that is English weather for you!! Then after a refreshing Cup of tea , take a walk around the woods. An adventure for children and adults alike. Have a warm by the bonfire too. A super place for the whole family. We certainly enjoyed our trip, this year and last!!!
Or go to Clumber or Sherwood and pay a fortune just to park!!

(5.0/5)The last review was rather harsh - it's February for godness sake so the weather's always dodgy. Hodsock's appeal is that it's so different to the usual NT and Garden centre places. We go pretty much every year for the fresh air, to see millions of snowdrops and spring flowers, to throw a log onto the bonfire in the wood and for the best homemade cake around. It's a great place - take wellies and warm winter clothes. The family who live there really take care of the place as they still live in the big house. To say it's not well maintained is not true at all - go along - you'll be pleasantly surprised!

(5.0/5)Having seen the reviews travelled for 2 hours to visit the gardens. Paid £4.50 per adult for a 10 minute walk around the gardens and woodlands which are particularly dangerous and not at all well maintained. Went into the coffee shop which is far from stylish and more like a canteen. Save the disappointment and go to a properly organised place like sherwood forest or clumber park nearby!
